We have been very fortunate to stay with the Karouji family for two years now during the kite festival. They are wonderful hosts, with a cozy friendly home. We were surprised to learn that Mrs. Karouji did tie dyeing with indigo she grew in her yard..after we presented her with a tie dyed ripstop bag we made using our dyeing process. Their son, Kango, lived in Oregon for a year on a fuji apple farm. He rides a Harley, and plays flute in the local cherry blossom festival, and during the Nebuta festival of lanterns. Last year we were introduced to their wonderful apple juice. Their juice is the best and sweetest we have ever tasted.
